The Root of It All

Stack of wooden planks on a tree stump by a dirt path.

Grown and made in the USA is not just a tagline. Charcuterie 1 is built on this value.

In making our boards, we begin the process by carefully positioning the logs on our sawmill for cutting. As the logs are milled, we get excited in discovering the beauty of the wood God created. Like snowflakes, there are never two alike.

The wood is then dried in our vacuum kiln. We use a vacuum kiln because it’s a high-quality way of preserving the beauty of the wood without losing its natural coloration.

Charcuterie 1 takes great care in the finishing process of our boards. Some of these steps include raising the grain multiple times to ensure a smooth surface and only using food grade mineral oil.

Our hope is you enjoy your Charcuterie 1 board as much as we enjoyed making it.
